Important Dates

Mid-September, 2018
The deadline date to file your Property Tax Appeal petitions in Broward and Miami-Dade County.


January 1
The Date all Property is assessed by the County for that tax year.

March 1
Deadline to file your Homestead Exemption & Agricultural Classification.

April 1
IMPORTANT LAW: Per Florida Statutes Section 194.014, if you appealed the assessed value of property, you must still pay all of the non­ad valorem assessments and make a partial payment of at least 75 percent of the ad valorem taxes, less the applicable discount under Section 197.162, before the taxes become delinquent on April 1st. Your failure to do so, will result in the Value Adjustment Board automatically denying your appeal.

April 1
Deadline to file Tangible Personal Property returns (form DR405).

Timeframe to submit income and expense information to the County Assessor’s office.

July 1
The date the County Appraiser must submit the tax roll to the Department of Revenue for approval.

July 1
Mailing date for denial of exemptions and classifications.

July 31
Deadline to file an appeal petition on denied exemptions and agricultural classifications. (or within thirty days following the mailing of denial notices).

Middle of the month. TRIM notices are mailed. This is the Proposed Taxes. Important, your must appeal while they are proposed, you cannot wait until they are finalized.

Mid-September, 2018 is the deadline in Broward and Miami-Dade County to file petition challenging the assessed property value.
